NOTES

GUARANTEES
AquilaUSA shall immediately replace or refund at no extra cost any faulty strings (false or broken), if notified of the problem immediately upon installation of the strings. There is no guarantee of satisfaction with the acoustical characteristics of Aquila standard or custom-made strings if they are not materially defective, but I will make every effort to ensure that you are happy with your purchase.

ADVICE AND ASSISTANCE
Each musical instrument represents a unique reality, and it is crucial to choose the ideal stringing for it: this is fundamental in order to achieve the best performance and ease of play. I am here to help you choose the best possible stringing for your instrument for playability, and with respect to all criteria of historic authenticity if desired. Office hours are usually Tuesday-Friday 9am to 12 noon, Pacific time and by e-mail any time. info@aquilausa.com . Curtis Daily, AquilaUSA

Please remember the absolute importance of the correct setting of the tailpiece, bridge, and sound post in bowed instruments. When installing gut strings for the first time on violin family instruments that have modern components, fine tuners on the tailpiece, if installed, must be removed. If unsure about this, please consult a luthier. A good luthier can often make a major difference in the sound and playability of your instrument. I offer two recommendations on the Links page.

EQUIVALENT PLAIN GUT DIAMETER
To keep calculations simple and to make it possible to use a metric caliper for measurement, fully and partly loaded gut strings, as well as Type D wound Nylgut strings, are referred to by a letter following a number that indicates the equivalent diameter of a plain gut string. For example, "140D" stands for a copper wound/multifilament Nylgut string (indicated by the letter "D") corresponding to a plain gut string 1.40 mm in diameter. The actual diameter of the string is much smaller but under playing conditions it will have the same working tension as a plain gut string of 1.40 mm diameter tuned to the same pitch.

DELIVERY
Orders from stock normally are shipped within 24 hours. Special orders, such as lengths or diameters outside normal stock may require more than 45 days for delivery. All domestic orders are shipped via First Class U.S. Mail. For international orders I use U.S. Mail Global Priority unless otherwise requested. Please inquire.

Occasionally I am away from the office for a week or more as I am a working musician. If you make an inquiry other than on a weekend, and don't hear from me within 24 hours it is probably because I am away, and I will respond as soon as I can. Please read: I expect to be away for the entire month of September, 2007 and will not be sending strings during that time. Please order early if you will need strings in September

NOTE
DUE TO CURRENCY FLUCTUATIONS, PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. 6/17/2007 I'm sorry but I must raise my prices again due to the falling U.S. dollar. I hope it will be temporary, so I have not changed the prices on the pages, only added a line to the order form.
