INTRODUCTION
Aquila was the first to prove that the specific weight of gut can he increased in a controlled manner and to apply this principle to the production of musical strings. Unlike the "C" type, our "E" type strings are only partly loaded and offer some interesting possibilities of application also in the field of modern stringing. Their higher tensile resistance, as compared with fully loaded strings, allows their use in the mid registers of bowed instruments exactly where plain gut strings begin to show a certain loss of brightness of tone and promptness of attack, and where wound strings are too exuberant in upper harmonics and dynamics. When used instead of plain gut in the high registers they show a surprising response together with a bright and dynamic acoustical performance: the perfect synthesis between the performance of metal and the appeal of gut; and that makes them definitely interesting also in the field of modern stringing.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Varnished natural gut strings, partly loaded with a special mineral compound under standardized and controlled conditions. Caution: do not exceed a frequency working index (vibrating string length in meters x frequency in Hz) of 100, as the string will break.

COLOR: REDDISH BROWN, SURFACE PERFECTLY SMOOTH AND VARNISHED.

FIELD OF APPLICATION
These strings can be employed on bowed instruments both as a transition between high "plain gut" and low "wound" registers, and for high registers instead of the usual plain gut strings, with a performance that is close to that of metal strings. For example we would suggest to employ them in the following positions: 4th for Tenor and Bass Viola da Gamba; 2nd for Cello; 2nd and 3rd for Violone and 1st and 2nd for Double Bass. NOTE: Owing to their special processing, loaded gut strings tend to be more delicate than plain gut; care should be taken not to twist them in the direction opposite to the one they already have.
